How facial waxing works
Your stylist will discuss the areas being waxed and any concerns you may have, such as skin sensitivity or allergies. The area to be waxed is cleaned to remove any oils, makeup, or dirt. This ensures better adhesion of the wax to the hair.
Depending on the type of wax (hard or soft), the wax is either warmed to a liquid state or used at room temperature (for cold wax strips). The wax is applied in the direction of hair growth using a spatula or applicator. For hard wax, the wax hardens and is then quickly removed without the need for cloth strips, pulling the hair out from the root. For soft wax, a cloth or paper strip is pressed onto the wax and then swiftly pulled off in the opposite direction of hair growth. After the hair is removed, any residual wax is cleaned off. A soothing lotion or gel, often containing ingredients like aloe vera or chamomile, is applied to reduce redness and irritation.
